Chet Thaker — Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Thaker has been a telecom industry entrepreneur since 1986. He has delivered innovative database solutions to businesses and consumers to manage their telecom services. During his 33 years in the telecom industry, Chet has also worked with Verizon and AT&T to implement systems solutions for sales and marketing management, complex voice and data network design systems, and operations performance management. Chet authored a book entitled Negotiating Telecommunications Contracts and taught two courses on the telecommunications industry at the University of California, Irvine; Engineering Extension. He graduated from UCLA. Chet was a finalist in Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2002 for Greater Washington Area.
Jim Sondel – Chief Technology Officer
Jim brings more than 17 years of experience in high-tech fields to Code9 Mobile. He is responsible for customer deployments, the product roadmap, and leads the development team in implementing software solutions. Before joining Code9 Mobile, Jim spent four years as CTO of Defywire, a mobile application solution provider focusing in education, logistics and government solutions. Before Defywire, Jim worked for four years with Fujitsu Consulting in the Telecom, Wireless, and Enterprise Mobility practices. In 2003, he was a founding member and lead mobile architect for Fujitsu Consulting's Enterprise Mobility Practice, which focused on providing mobile solutions for commercial, local, state, and Federal Government clients. Before joining Fujitsu, Jim held positions of director of information technology for Fox Communications, a telecommunications service provider, in Bellevue, Washington. Jim holds a bachelor of science degree in Computer Information Systems from the State University of New York College at Buffalo.
Sam Mitchell – Vice President, Marketing & Operational Strategy
Sam is tasked with devising and executing the Marketing and Operational Strategy for Code9 Mobile. With extensive knowledge of building channel partner networks and innovative revenue growth strategies Sam brings a calming influence to proceedings. Sam has held senior roles within a global fortune 200 operating in the European financial sector as well as working with numerous successful startups. Also he has previously operated his own training and consulting firm specializing in efficiency management working with both government and private clients.
When not sweating blood for the cause Sam is an active member of the British American Business Association, an Ambassador for inspiring nonprofit love.fútbol and sits on the Tech Council of Maryland Telecom Committee.

Julie Dobson – Chairperson
Ms. Dobson has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. She most recently served as chief operating officer for TeleCorp PCS, Inc. in Arlington, Virginia, where she was responsible for all aspects of operations including the wireless network engineering, construction and operation, sales, marketing, pricing, information technology, human resources and customer service. TeleCorp provided wireless communications services in eight states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, operating under the brand SunCom, until its sale to AT&T wireless in 2002. Prior to that, Ms. Dobson served in a variety of leadership positions for Bell Atlantic Corporation including president of the New York Region of Bell Atlantic Mobile, vice president of Bell Atlantic Enterprises Corporation, and president and chief executive officer of Bell Atlantic Business Systems International. Ms. Dobson also serves on the boards of PNM Resources, Inc. (Public Utility of New Mexico), Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. and LCC International, Inc. Ms. Dobson earned her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor of science from the College of William and Mary.
Richard J. Bove
Mr. Bove is President of Bove & Associates, a financial services firm (tax and investment matters) based in Arizona. He is also General Partner of Bartol Family Capital Partners, an investment fund. Rich is an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant.
Drew C. Smith
Mr. Smith is an entrepreneur in the Quick Service Restaurant industry in Philadelphia / Southern New Jersey area. He was a Principal at Arlington Capital Partners in Washington DC. He has over 10 years of corporate, consulting and investment experience. Drew was the CEO of VIPC, a broadband communications consulting company based in Silicon Valley. VIPC specialized in helping both start-ups and Fortune 500 companies leverage emerging technologies for the delivery of high-speed data and video. Before founding the consulting firm, Drew was the Worldwide Planning and Finance Manager of ASK, a $400 million software company. He has also held positions at Silicon Graphics, Unisys, and Northern Telecom. Drew has served on the Boards of ten companies. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University and he earned an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
